               Sri Lanka have a large verity of traditional handicrafts.Sri Lankan handicrafts are famous all round the world.There are many handicrafts such as,

Fabric Weaving


Fabric weaving in Sri Lanka has been in existence for more 2500 years while archaeological indications prove it might even have a long history in our country.
The hand loom textile industry is a highly  laboure intensive, export, oriented rural based industry in Sri Lanka.

Batik 

The art of batik making was imported from Indonesia by the Dutch in the 16th century.Since then, the craft has developed a distinctive Sri Lankan style, a charming charachtor of it's own.Batik is made using pure, natural fabrics such as cotton, linen or silk.

Jewelary

Sri Lanka produce excellent costume jewels.In jewelery there are two traditions in Sri Lanka,
          Galle tradition.
                 and
          Kandy tradition
The stones are more conspicuous than the metal in the Galle low country tradition.
But the traditional Kandiyan jewelery is characterised by its intricate metal work, especially in silver.

Pottery

Pottery is one of the Sri Lanka's old craft, traditionaly providing kitchen impliments, from water jug to pots in all shapes and sizes.
Even today a majority of people in the villages and a few in urban areas use clay pots and pans to cook.In addition to the cooking utensils, various items such as flowerpots and vases with intricate design and terracotta figurines are also made.
